We used NomNomPaleo’s delicious recipe, which can be found here: http://nomnompaleo.com/post/41605570388/whole30-day-27-paleo-chips-including-a-new
The tools you’ll need are a baking tray, butter, salt, and sliced mushrooms. You could use ghee, tallow, lard, duck fat, or any other tasty fat of choice here instead of butter – experiment with what sounds tastiest to you! You can also cover the baking tray with a baking rack, foil, or parchment paper – whatever’s handy! I also like to use a brush to apply the butter to the mushrooms, but you could just use a spoon, or a knife, or your finger, or gravity, or…whatever you can find. 🙂
If your mushrooms aren’t already sliced, start by slicing them – a mandolin slicer will make this easier, like nom nom recommends in her recipe, but just watch your fingertips with that thing! You’re looking for about a quarter inch thick slices. Doesn’t have to be perfect though.
Preheat the oven to 300, and lay the mushroom slices out on the tray. Salt them. Brush with butter. Flip, more butter more salt. Bake! It’ll take between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on…variables. Keep any eye on them the first time and see how fast they go! I like to take them out and flip them over halfway through. Take them out when they’re nicely browned and crispy, and enjoy! Ours are usually gone before they even have a chance to cool 😉
