Paleo Pizza: The Meatza

Pizza is a beloved food by many, and for good reason. It’s delicious, versatile, and easy to make. But what if you’re following a paleo diet? Traditional pizza crusts are made with wheat flour, which is not allowed on the paleo diet. But don’t despair, there’s a solution – the Meatza.

A Meatza is a special version of pizza that has been developed by paleo dieters. Instead of using wheat flour, the crust is made with ground meat. This can be made with a variety of meats such as ground beef, ground pork, or bacon. The meat crust is pre-baked before the toppings are added. This ensures that the crust is fully cooked and crispy, while still maintaining a moist center.

Paleo Meat Pizza

One of the best things about the Meatza is that you can use whatever toppings you usually like on your pizza. Some popular options include bacon, olives, sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, anchovies, and more. The key is to use no-sugar-added tomato sauce, and herbs to enhance the flavor.

Making a Meatza is easy, it takes only 30 minutes to prep and just 15 minutes to bake. The result is a delicious and satisfying pizza that is paleo-friendly. The meat crust is crispy and flavorful, while the toppings are fresh and tasty. This is a great option for those following a paleo diet, but it’s also great for anyone who loves pizza and wants to try something new.

How to Make a Paleo Meat Pizza

Begin by preheating your oven to 450°F.

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, egg, onion, and garlic. Mix until well combined.

Take a 16-inch pizza pan and spread the mixture evenly on it. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.

While the crust is cooking, heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add the bacon and cook for 5 minutes until it is still slightly soft.

Add the mushrooms and continue cooking for a couple of minutes until they are almost done.

Toss in the bell peppers and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Remove the crust from the oven, pour out any excess juice, and reserve it for other recipes. The crust will have shrunk slightly.
